Associate Family Pastor Jan Stevens
They say that if you want something done, give it to a busy person. In New Vision Fellowship Jan is one of the busiest people around. Her title is a little misleading in that it sounds too simple. Jan oversees all the youth and children’s programs, including the preschool and daycare. She also supervises adult education and missions work.
Jan’s family life is busy, too. Her family includes:
- Mark: Chief of Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue EMS. He is also working on a graduate degree;
Katie: an 18 yr. old high school senior, whose goal is to study Christian Education in college, and to become a minister;
- Aubrey: a 12 yr. old flutist, who loves bead work and reading, and who is learning to ride a unicycle;
- Case: a 5 yr. old boy that will start kindergarten this fall. He has named paleontology or forensic science as his career choice for the future;
- Jon Marc: a 16 month old who needs no hobbies or activities to keep him busy;
- Crash: a German shepherd puppy, whose name fits him well.
Jan is a graduate of George Fox Seminary, an ordained Free Methodist pastor, and has served in the church for four and a half years. Her hobbies include hiking with husband, Mark; music, she plays the piano and viola; and being with people. She quotes Ephesians 4: 12, 13 as a description of the calling God has placed on her heart:
“. . . to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the Faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
