Venture Kidz Children’s Center is an integral part of our community and outreach of the Beaverton area. Our main objective is to encourage the development of the whole child while teaching simple values and basic preschool skills.
It is our philosophy that young children learn most effectively when they have the opportunity to explore their environment and experience a variety of materials and situations. Our intent is to provide a curriculum that fosters growth in the six major areas of a child’s development, social, emotional, spiritual, physical, language and cognitive, within the context of a loving and accepting group.
We believe that all children should be stimulated, guided and encouraged through carefully planned activities that allow each child to develop at their own pace. Whole group, small group and individualized activities, will give children the opportunity to play, explore, socialize, create, question and experiment in order to make sense of the world around them and to develop their own sense of independence, self-confidence and responsibility.
We are a Christ-centered program and incorporate Christian Family values including honor and respect in order to teach children the proper way in which to conduct themselves. Learning experiences are taught from the perspective that each child is a child of God and that all people are deserving of respect.
Our environment is positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate. Childhood should be a wonderful, exciting time for a child. We offer a curriculum and environment that is a combination of hands on learning, free choices, worksheets, art, sensory experiences and more. We have collaborated with the local kindergarten teachers and will provide your child with the skills necessary to excel in kindergarten and school.
Language, Science and Math components are key elements in our curriculum and program. Learning through play is the philosophy of our program. Hands-on daily activities allow children to explore basic concepts, such as colors, shapes, and numbers. In addition, multi-level adaptations make our program perfect for a mixed-age group. Our Joyful Hearts preschool is offered M-W-F to community children that are old enough to participate. Some children cannot participate during all of the preschool time due to age or disruptive behavior. We do try to let the children participate as much as possible in circle time, free time, snack and field trips.
Children have unique needs and our key staff undergo constant training to recognize and meet these needs. The training includes but is not limited to First Aid, CPR, Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect, Childcare Basics I & II and 15 Additional hours a year. All staff are checked and enrolled in Oregon’s Criminal History Registry and key people have current Food Handlers Cards. All trainings are documented and on file. Staff here encourage involvement and participation in our activities, promote safety in our play, provide some quiet time and reinforce positive social skills.
